Purpose: Modeled after the aerodynamic fins on humpback whales, Dr. Frank Fish’s team was able to retrofit turbine blades with the same attributes that allowed these large mammals to glide through the ocean. The resulting advancements led to airfoils with higher angles that could move air with increased efficiency while reducing power drawn from a motor.

 

Today, WhalePower Technology is utilized in the Whalenado fans to deliver this elevated performance to customers across the globe.
